The soundtrack of Dirt 3 played a major role in forming my music tastes. I forgot about this particular track for years, but listening to it again, it's probably my favourite of them all. Infectious UK grime beat, but the producer is American. Awesome melodic composition.

Making a YouTube poop of Charlie Kirk is fine. Editing his wife talking about his death is a bit much. Ending the video with unedited footage of the last couple of seconds of his life followed by a song with gunshot SFX... you're celebrating a violent death in a disgraceful way.

RIP my Clyp account. In the span of 2018 to 2020, I made and uploaded so much amateur music there, with fun descriptions for all my tracks.
At the end of 2020, Clyp stopped accepting new uploads unless you paid a subscription fee. That actually ended my music career. Now they're deleting my stuff.

Of all the good music in Mario Kart World, that harmonica riff is an obnoxious choice for the title theme. There's no other Mario Kart game with a title theme that makes me go "ugh" like that harmonica does. I also sorely miss when Mario games had more electronic music than live music.

I always find it really satisfying to be able to guess which artist made a track while listening to it blindly for the first time. Particularly when it comes to experimental electronic music, when you're guessing based on synth sounds, rhythms, and structure, which artists try not to reuse too much.

This track by Plaid from 2006 (its name is "To", which is hard to google) is nice entry-level IDM; it sounds like it could be late-game level music from a 2D platformer. The switch-ups in mood and rhythm, lovely melodies, and the triplet drum breakdown near the end are 💯

When I was a kid in the early 2000s, I once bought a single box of Hot Wheels cookies from a convenience store. They were like Oreos, but they tasted slightly different. (Better, in my mind.) Each cookie had an image of a different Hot Wheels car on it. I can't find any proof of their existence.

Got a Switch 2 from the midnight launch at my local EB Games, without a pre-order! ...But I'm not even going to play it until after work, and I'd better get to bed now, for work. Ugh. But Mario Kart World awaits me when the time is right. I'm relieved that stock shortages weren't an issue.

This Yimino track released earlier this year (prod. ~2010) is pretty much perfect. The beat gives an odd and silly first impression, but then some pad chords create a warm atmosphere that lasts for the whole track. Unique sliding bassline in the second half.

I'm a simple man who loves simple IDM songs like this one from Paul Blackford on a 2021 compilation from Touched Music. Positive heartfelt chords with a swaggy hip-hop beat and a retro electro bassline that verges on being silly, but it makes the song catchier.

I am afraid for the future of Canada. The leader of a bordering nation is repeatedly denying my country's sovereignty in an attempt to normalize the idea of a hostile takeover.
It's sickening. It's disgusting. I see a bleak and dystopian future for my country. I don't know what to do. Make it stop.

To whoever in my apartment complex is doing this: stop connecting to my Bluetooth alarm clock and waking me up with lame pop hits that cut in and out because you're barely in range of the speaker. Yesterday it was Memories by Maroon 5, and today it was Budapest by George Ezra. I had to unplug it.

I bought Septimo Sentido by Seph on white vinyl, and it just arrived! First vinyl purchase for over a year; it's really cool to get some physical merch from Seph since discovering him a few years ago and not even knowing if he was still actively making music.

It's frustrating that Reddit suggests a random username in the format "Adjective_Noun1234" to people creating new accounts, and real people actually take this suggestion even though it sounds dumb as heck and always makes them look like a spam/bot account.

My love for learning as much as possible about every programming language has gotten me this far: I reached 100% completion of Exercism's 48 in 24 challenge. (Solved one problem in 3 specific languages every week, all year.)
Now let's see how well Bluesky can render this abnormally tall screenshot.

I've had this track by Data Rebel on repeat for over a week. This artist's contributions to some free Kahvi Collective compilation albums have been very enjoyable, and I'm glad to see he's still making stellar work, even this year. Suspenseful but chill?

The Advent of Code subreddit (r/adventofcode) is overmoderated and completely micromanaged. The moderator named daggerdragon is unbearable; looking at their comment history just feels like doomscrolling.
I have no context, but what is this? You can't reply to someone's solution with a question?

Uh, so I played the game yet again, and somehow did everything I was stuck on, and got to 84%. Now I don't even know where to go next, which is a better problem than hating myself for dying on Traitor Lord for the 15th time and having to do 2 minutes of platforming before my next attempt.
Picked up my 81% completion (finished with bad ending) Hollow Knight save file from 2018 tonight, just to see if I could overcome whatever made me ragequit back then, and nope, all the negative emotions came rushing back. There's no game that makes me feel worse about myself than Hollow Knight.

Not long before the pandemic, I had a thread on Twitter where I shared a song I liked (IDM genre, mostly) every day for 200+ days in a row. I hope to bring back my level of electronic music enthusiasm on BlueSky.
