Aren't we all
The ending of King Kong always makes me cry. It's so sad. He's just a big, scared monkey.

Just saw Dragonfly, and at the end of the film the twenty or so people in the screening just sat there through the silent, black and white credits. No one got up or spoke or even looked at each other. Never seen that before. A singular viewing experience.

You should go.
Exclusive first look at the trailer for Dragonfly, directed by Paul Andrew Williams and starring Brenda Blethyn and Andrea Riseborough 🎥

In cinemas in the UK and Ireland from 7 November via @conic.film

I got an email from our main librarian. She asked me if I wanted some old Literary Magazines they just had sitting around in storage. I said sure. She delivered SIX CRATES!

I don't want to see any more writers using kintsugi as a metaphor. It's almost 2026. We get it.

Some thoughts on The Smashing Machine now I've had a minute.

I was interested in it, as the original Smashing Machine documentary was one of the many texts I consumed while planning and researching for BRUISE.

Honey, Don't! had a lot of great scenes, elements, and performances, and for me was enjoyable overall, but it was very poorly plotted.

Many plot points are abandoned, unconnected, don't make sense, or only make sense if you infer a lot from very little.

Pretty good, could've been much better.

No big deal but BRUISE has more reviews than the new Dan Brown!!!*

I think "have a nice life" might be the sentence with the biggest gap between positive intention and negative reaction.

I.e. why people get grumpy with me while im travelling.

If you’re a Canadian like myself who grew up watching PBS cross-border style, then you likely remember that their fund-raising events frequently got a lot of calls from north of the border.

We can still do this online. Check this link for Canadian sign-up & usage :

I might never be able to completely give up on Doctor Who while I live in the UK, but it increasingly seems like it was written by this guy:
a man in a suit and tie is talking about writers who use subtext and they 're all cowards

If I was being a snarky bitch, I might say something about the BBC spending money on dead computer generated writers whilst sacking actual living and breathing ones. But I’m not, so I won’t.
