Protip: for any cis people who don’t already know, the phrase “this person” is an extremely obvious way transhobes often degender and/or misgender trans people.

you should generally not use that phrasing. especially if you are criticizing someone who happens to be trans.

Solid advice here, Indies. Remember you're not charging just for manufacturing costs. You're charging for writing, art, layout, playtesting, time spent promoting it on social media and elsewhere. Creative work is still work. Get paid for it.

When you go to print your #TTRPG remember that you need to charge at least about 6x the cost to print for sustainability.

Small to midsize publishers can take advantage of scale & you can't.

You are not Wizards, Evil Hat, Exalted Funeral, or Modiphius.

Ideally charge 10x an pay a bill.

I played M:tG for like 20 years. I love the game, but it is pretty clear that Hasbro doesn't. I understand a business has to make money, but their (rather successful) business model used to be creating a sustainable play environment and supporting game stores. Now it's just empty cash grabs.
