You can call me Rose. I suppose for a first post I should clarify what I intend to do: I want to get better at art! So my plan is to simply draw ANYTHING once a day for ~10-15 mins and hopefully keep that up for a whole year! No matter how simple. Join me if you so desire :)

My current method isn’t terrible per se, you could say I’m giving myself an overview and I’ll go into detail later on~
It doesn’t change much in my plans to revisit things, it simply reinforces a plan I already had :)

Im not necessarily beating myself up over it, while unfortunate, I’d still say I’ve learned a lot! I just can’t say I’ve learned too effectively. I think if I want to see big leaps in progress I’ll have to dedicate myself more to smaller details and repeating and reproducing what I’ve learned,-

Watched a video on how to learn things most effectively and found out that my current strategy of “one thing a day” happens to be…
..highly ineffective. .

Let’s just say I’ll be revisiting a lot of my studies after this little challenge of mine is over :P

I came across an outdated guide on image grid sizing crop/proportions for bsky earlier, and I felt it was important to create an updated version! Please use this new guide instead!

Up-to-date BlueSky Crop Aspect Ratio
Crop Sizes for Bluesky as of 18 Oct 2024

By default, single images are uncropped. If image is too tall (Exceeds the 1:2 aspect ratio) then it will be cropped. Single images that are too tall may be scaled down but aspect ratio is preserved

With two images, both of them share a square aspect ratio of 1:1

For three images, the first image is square (1:1) while the other two are half-squares (2:1)

And for 4 images, all of them are 3:2

Would my art be worth glazing/poisoning at this point? I’d say I’m getting better but always conclude that “meh it’s not good enough to get stolen and neither do I have the reach for it so not worth the effort”
Would anyone be willing to give a second opinion?

Nice to see your art again!
I believe you’d benefit from looking at the silhouette of a reference first-and-foremost. That helps you see the bigger picture and relations between limbs and would help in seeing that her right arm happens to be a bit further away than in the ref ;)

Mostly little changes today like stocking-details.
I’m trying to direct people’s eyes with contrast but I’m realizing that that should be a very early step in a painting..
I’ll probably move on to rendering tomorrow, then I can get back to my studies~

I always struggle with colors so I tend to stick to monochromatic art but I can’t keep running away from colors forever so I’m trying to go out of my comfort zone here. I did a tiny color-study on the side just to get the gist of what I’m going for.
Also I remembered moonlight exists :p
