I don't want to say this is bad advice. From my perspective, it's great advice because I don't want to hear from a man who uses ChaptGPT at all! If I accidentally flirted with such a man I would very much want that to be a single encounter.

When he met someone in a bar one Friday night and swapped social media handles, he asked AI what his next move should be.
ChatGPT discerned that sending an initial message on Monday midmorning would set the right pace. "Then it gave me some options for what the message could be," says Rich.
"Keep it light, warm, and low-stakes so it reads as genuine interest without urgency," the bot advised. "Something like: Hey Sarah, still laughing about [tiny shared moment/reference if you've got one] - good to meet you!" Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

I hate seeing this viewed as a free speech argument. Because it ignores the difference in the speech we're talking about.

We are railing against people who use institutionalized power to abuse. We say no to hate speech. No peace for literal Nazis.

They will say, "you did this to us first" as though it's as simple as "the left" taking their turn in the barrel.

But the "did it first" they mean is something like Me Too: a movement striking back against decades of consequence-free sexual violence.
