#watched CEMETERY MAN (1994)

A cemetery caretaker falls in love with a woman mourning at her husband's graveside. Should he tell her about the zombie problem they've been having?

A unique, surreal, arthouse splatter comedy from Dario Argento's talented protégé Michele Soavi.

#watched THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE (1970)

An American writer living in Italy interrupts an attempted murder and is soon pursued by a killer who wants to erase the crime's only witness.

Dario Argento's debut film was more than a hit. It changed the course of Italian cinema.

#watched DEEP RED (1975)

One of Dario Argento's most revered films, DEEP RED boasts stunning cinematography, superlative camerawork, and one of the greatest music scores ever composed. Does it matter that the story barely makes any sense? Not really! #giallo

#watched SEVEN BLOOD-STAINED ORCHIDS (1972)

A killer has marked seven women for death. Mario, the husband of one would-be victim, is frustrated with the police investigation and decides to hunt the unknown assailant himself. #giallo #UmbertoLenzi

#watched THE KILLER (1989)

There's nothing to say that hasn't been said about John Woo's massively influential Hong Kong action/crime classic, but on the outside chance you're unfamiliar with it:

Imagine the Taxi Driver shootout and Boromir's death scene had a baby.

#watched DELIRIUM (1987)

This late-cycle giallo from director Lamberto Bava is entertaining in a trashy way, though the story is sloppy and full of red-herrings and misdirections that make little sense.

#watched AN IDEAL PLACE TO KILL (1971)

Two young bohemians break into a wealthy older woman's house to hide from the police, but the woman isn't quite the pushover they expected.

Umberto Lenzi essentially remakes his own film, ORGASMO, this time from the POV of the hippies instead of the victim.

#watched ORGASMO (1969)

A lonely-and very wealthy-widow falls in with a pair of bohemians who show her a good time ... which turns into a bad time when they imprison her in her villa and take control of her life.

The first of 4 collaborations between Umberto Lenzi and Carroll Baker.

#watched A CHINESE GHOST STORY III (1991)

A young monk's loyalties are tested when his master sets forth to hunt the demons inhabiting an abandoned temple, including the beautiful (and not so demonic) one who has earned the young monk's affection.

#watched A CHINESE GHOST STORY 2 (1990)

This sequel lacks the soulful charm of the first film, and the plot is overly convoluted, but it's still a hugely entertaining fantasy-horror movie with plenty of action, monsters, and amusing characters.

#watched THE HOUSE ON STRAW HILL (1976)

A novelist plagued by violent hallucinations becomes obsessed with the attractive writing assistant he just hired. That's when the violence begins to happen for real.

It felt like an Udo Kier night. RIP.

#watched ILSA, HAREM KEEPER OF THE OIL SKEIKS (1976)

Reports of Ilsa's death in the previous film were greatly exaggerated, as she's alive and well here in an unnamed Arab county, deploying her sadistic charms in aid of a horny oil sheik.

Classy as always. #DyanneThorne

#watched WRESTLING WOMEN VS THE AZTEC MUMMY (1964)
Inept villains and heroes fight over an ancient manuscript, which, naturally, results in lots of wrestling and the resurrection of a mummy that behaves like a vampire.

#watched WITHOUT WARNING (1980)

An alien who hunts for sport pays a visit to a grungy little space rock called Earth and throws killer frisbees at teens and rednecks.

Director Greydon Clark learned from his mentor, Al Adamson, how to snag washed-up actors who needed money. Quite a cast!

#wacthed A CHINESE GHOST STORY (1987)

A hapless tax collector finds himself in a haunted temple where he encounters zombies, demons, a grumpy Taoist swordsman, and the most beautiful ghost in movie history.

My favorite Hong Kong movie of the 1980s. Pure magic.

As a non-glamorous person with an Old Navy fashion sense, I don't know much about Glamour magazine. However, I doubt the US edition has ever done anything as cool as Glamour Mexico did in naming hard rock power trio #TheWarning Women of the Year for 2025.
