I love this. The purest essence of Kemi - incredibly wrong, bizarrely belligerent about it, and also wrong in a way where you just go “have you considered reading anything other than your Twitter feed?”

The not-quite-correction is really funny. “A lot” rather than “a majority”.

All these bizarre Kirk civilwashing pieces really are the logical endpoint of a decade where the constant invocation of free speech always seemed to involve wild obfuscations of what the speech actually was.

would love Labour and the Tories' objections to Farage's deportation proposals not be respectively "impractical" and "plagiarism"
Calling asylum seekers a threat to national security and to British women, he claimed his plans would stop Channel crossings “within days” and “save tens and possibly hundreds of billions of pounds”.

Downing Street accused Farage of not being serious about his plans, but in a sign of how Reform has set the tone for public debate, the prime minister’s spokesperson refused to criticise his references to irregular migration as an “invasion” and a “scourge” or his prediction that Britain is “not far away from major civil disorder”.

Pushed on whether it would be a good idea to sign a returns deal with Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, as Farage proposed, the spokesperson said the government was “not going to take anything off the table”.

The Conservatives merely accused Reform UK of “reheating and recycling” Tory plans.

A lot of people seem to have convinced themselves that the Starmer strategy is a deliberate masterly inactivity. It's not, but even if it were, no winning government has ever gone quiet and just gone 'well, the opposition is just self-defining as extreme'. They went out and labelled it as such.

alright what's the dumbest thing we can get 500 people to go outside and protest about in the next few weeks, think there's a point we have to make here

I'm thinking "bring forward the full release of Hades 2" but I'm open to ideas

Sunday protests seem to be < 500 nationwide, maybe < 300, across 4-6 locations

Yet ITV news using language of "erupt nationwide" (!)

Epping: 100-150
London: 20
Birmingham: 30
Stevenage: 30-50
Norwich: ? anything of any scale
Manchester: ? anything of any scale
Dudley: ? anything of any scale?
