Not too sure of what counts as underrated but I feel Nick Roche does an amazing job. Drawing robots is hard, and he's realllly good at it. He's got a great sense of mechanical detail while still keeping it 'readable'. An artists where I genuinely hope to save up and be able to buy one of his prints!

gives moments that stick with you like Skybound Ultra Magnus being on near death for years. Then hes rebuilt but now he has trauma and cant even think about fighting again. Even then with the new metal skin it never goes away.

so lethal moves and such are a okay. It also makes the transformers scarier in a way that gets interesting. If a transformer can be rebuilt than what does harm mean to them, how can you make action tense and terrifying? It means you get characters like Tarn and series like the Wreckers trilogy. It-

Robot fiction is interesting bc you typically have the urge to "go farther" with the action. You don't have to worry bc at the end of the day, robots can be rebuilt. It's like how Samurai Jack and the TMNT can get real intense in their fights. They're not fighting people they're fighting machines-

Reading transformers comics out loud to myself and feeling myself slip into Cullen and Welker

My general thoughts on seeing new rangers shows with weird production issues/gritty reboot rumors and AI gen stuff(not you boom studios youre doing great)

i will admit that part of this is getting older and not being in that target demographic anymore but outside of the occassional costume power rangers has not sparked that joy in me anymore, unlike the source toku stuff like kr and ultraman.
Except the death ranger. The Death Ranger gets a pass

Transformers gets bonus points bc chances are if you're quoting you're also trying to imitate the characters voices. Like I've never heard anyone say one shall stand one shall fall without trying to throw a bit of that cullenism into their speech patterns
