Have you read the book?
In just one month I will be speaking at hashtag#PASSDataSummit! Will I see you there? if you haven't registered yet, use code ANDYLE25 to save $150!
The only use case I have for a WiFi-enabled oven is to use an app to start it pre-heating while I’m on my way home from the store

But that’s not enough for me to buy one, let alone put it on my network
Purely paranoia on my part. Between the Ring access Amazon has handed to law enforcement, and the reports of Alexa constantly listening/recording, I have little faith in Amazon keeping everything about eero private once they figure out a way to monetize it.

I admit I'm in tinfoil hat territory here
The US Navy? Not excusing any of this (it’s outrageous, all of it. I’m so glad I never bought into Ring or eero, and dumped Alexa years ago), but what the hell is the Navy doing with access to peoples’ cameras?
I still cling to old.reddit.com so I only get my subscribed subs there. But that doesn't stop the inevitable self-inflicted trip to /r/all and that's what gets me
Muted words helps a lot here on bsky. I've backed way off with Facebook the past several years (unfortunately I do have to look at it about once a week). The next to go to will have to be the default front page of reddit but I've no idea how to block just that while keeping the focused subreddits
these changes are now in their own branch with their own PR and I'll get to them when I get to them
no, I caught it before anything had been committed locally. I'm not really sure when it made these changes yesterday, but I didn't ask it to do so - in fact, when I asked "did I ask you to do that?" the response was "no (emdash) you didn't explicitly ask, I took the initiative"
CoPilot in VSCode took it upon itself to make changes to my code without confirming with me, and now I'm making it clean up after itself.

Yes, it's as glamorous as it sounds
$88 in Ticketmaster fees? Hell to the no

I’d ask how they can justify it, but they don’t have to because they own everything
How many tickets are you trying to buy?
Walkers welcome too! We won’t go as far or as fast, but it’s a lovely way to get moving and kick off your Wednesday!

The one thing I’ve learned being a developer and then switching to being a PM …

When a developer says they can do it in an hour believe them.

You don’t need to remind them every day for a week.
The keep adding gestures and were supposed to just “discover” them somehow?

Also there are FOURTEEN functions hidden behind the Reply button in iOS Mail including Print. I don’t know where the right place is for that but at the bottom of a pop-up menu behind the “Reply”
button doesn’t seem logical
Followup: you can flick up from the address bar to see the open tabs and close from there. But it’s not readily apparent that this is a UI feature

This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.
My bank popped this up a few weeks ago right at the top of the main screen after logging in
I’m on a 2-3 year cycle now. When I upgrade one of my kids gets the old one. Used to do 2 years but couldn’t justify replacement with the minimal upgrade from 13 to 15

Battery health is 1 thing that would get me to upgrade sooner but new charging optimizations keep it in good shape for a long time
