Blacksky the feed will always be Black only.
Blacksky-only posts on blacksky.community will be Black only.

you can think of Blacksky Algorithms the company as Reddit for AT Protocol. We will make other “subreddits”

Community been here for 2 years and company for 1 year. Im the founder of both.
Ok so maybe I’m not understanding something? In my mind the goal is to have an app/site for Black ppl only…but now I’m hearing there is a push for white ppl to join but just with another handle? I don’t get how that’s for Black ppl only…Is it all based on just the handle?
Blacksky will always be a community for only individuals that identify as Black.

As a former Washington Post reporter I’m ashamed of this news. There is nothing false or inflammatory in anything Karen Attiah wrote.

Canceling my subscription. I’m appalled by our democratic organizations’ inability to protect free speech for all in the face of rising fascism.

Custom GIFs is on the list

Other two are unlikely to happen until there’s a few million in the bank account. Could change.

Where are custom gifs?
Media in DMs?
Videos longer than 3 minutes?

Who is designing that?

I understand the allure of wanting to be a "carry guns and wear leather jackets" Black Panther but there's a case to be made that the most dangerous ones were the "feed kids breakfast and teach them about settler colonialism" Black Panthers
I hope we Americans can let go of our desire to be the individual Chosen One who leads the rebellion and punches every Nazi. Organizing is hard, it takes experience and resources and time. Stop fantasizing about being a superhero. Start joining existing groups and be part of collective action.

I ran an experiment, simultaneously posting articles on Bluesky and X, and then testing to see how many people actually clicked and read them. The numbers on Bluesky are higher, both because the X algorithm downranks journalism, and because Bluesky attracts readers, not just shitposters.

The only stablecoin should have been issued by the Fed, and 47 should have never been able to issue a grift coin or stablecoin, but Dems completely missed the chance to regulate crypto under Biden…out of sheer ignorance and seeming allegiance to the banks.
ICYMI from last night: expect a cave from Democrats on a bill that weakly regulates stablecoins & would allow Big Tech firms to create their own private currency.
Senate Dems had backed off when Trump launched a stablecoin, but gave up leverage for an anti-Trump amendment that's designed to fail.
