"Hello there. I've finally arrived. Wow, the foot traffic was that bad, huh. Had to Naruto run my way towards the end a bit. Okay, now what I was here for... Oh yeah, the introduction!

I'm Nina Naomi and I'll be serving as the honorary first #OC of AidanStar64!

What did Stealth do that was considered bad, out of curiosity?
Rare has worked with Disney as well after, but by the time the Pirates of the Caribbean x Sea of Thieves collab happened, Rare became a different company with different folks working for them.
I would highly recommend listening to this episode of the podcast, The Kongversation by Donkey Kong and Rare fansite, @dkvine.com for more context onto what happened with Disney, Rare, and Nintendo:

Final thing to note, was that the GameCube game was the reason why in the first Kingdom Hearts game, Mickey only appeared in one scene in the entire game as since the two games were coming out around the same time, Disney denied Square (the developer of KH) to use him a lot.
...of the company, supposely little to no tears happened at that meeting towards the rejection.

Also, Rare was going to do a Mickey GameCube game, but because the Nintendo partnership fizzed out, the latter got Capcom to do one instead, which resulted in this game:
The Stamper brothers would say to the devs to half-ass the titles as they feel they were not as important to the company as their other titles. The effects of that deal were so bad that when the co-founders of Rare told all of the staff that Nintendo wasn't buying the rest...
On a sidenote, one of the Game Boy Mickey Racing games, Mickey's Racing Adventure, had ideas from a scrapped Diddy Kong Racing GB game they had in development.
2.) Rare had less creative freedom when it came to making these games due to Disney being involved in those games. Disney was so strict to the point whete Rare's own website couldn't mention those games because of it. For example, the development studio couldn't just kill off Goofy as a joke.
1.) They were licensed games, and if you know how those games are often received, then it makes sense. The co-founders, Tim and Chris Stamper, didn't want to go backwards in terms of the games they created.
Basically, Nintendo handed off the Mickey license to Rare, who were not exactly excited about making those games because:
To elaborate more on this, back in the late 90s, Disney and Mickey Mouse were very popular in Japan. Naturally, Nintendo wanted in on the action and did a deal with Disney to develop and publish several Disney games on their systems.

To any #Rareware fans who loved the #Nintendo partnership, what if I told you all that this game should here is one of the reasons onto why Rare was sold to Microsoft? It is true; trust me.

The NES and Super Mario Bros. launched 40 years ago in the United States!

You can make the case it's the most important anniversary in the history of the US video game market.

Today was Gregg Mayles' last day at Rare. He posted this lovely little farewell over on social media. Since he's not on Bluesky, I hope he doesn't mind me sharing it here.

There's probably no video game designer, let alone creative mind, who has had as much of a positive impact on my life as Gregg.

I guess that I just wanted to vent this out to my followers on here since I never really talked about this before if anything and to show that how some pieces of media that people often gloss over as unimportant are important to others. (6/6)
Well, just last night, I did finish watching it with only the film to go left. Just finishing something that means a lot to me for personal and important reasons including for that teacher, has just made me have another grief episode at the moment. (5/6)
I made it a promise to myself that, as someone who only really watched like, five episodes of the show I mentioned before, that I would do it all throughout the year starting in January. (4/6)
Needless to say, that with teacher's death, I have had since then felt at times, grief with heavy emotions including today itself. (3/6)
She and I bonded a lot over all sorts of stuff like drawing & chatting. One of my interests that this teacher liked as well was Disney's Lizzie McGuire, of which she knew due to her daughter watching it back in the days. (2/6)
VENT: I haven't brought this up on here up until now, but around August of last year, I had heard that a former middle school teacher of mine who I had fond memories of almost a decade ago, had passed away due to cancer a couple of days before my birthday that year. (1/6)
