I vote in ALL elections. For 30 years. Municipal bonds, state constitutional, school board…without fail. I vote for half ass mediocre white candidates because they’re still less evil. And I do it because people bled for me to be able to it. Fk excuses. But I also know I don’t matter to this country.

And many of these red town protesters are still close and comfortable with their MAGA voting neighbors and family members. The “Let’s not talk politics” relationships. The “They’re really nice people, but we just disagree on politics” relationships.

Low turnout. I'm in Texas. Abbott, Cruz, Paxton...statewide elections not impacted by gerrymandering. ID laws are garbage, but you CAN still vote...people here choose not to...
