Hi! I'm Aethyne. I live in a shack in the mosquito infested woods, and I draw stuff (mainly men) and yell at things. Not necessarily in that order.

Friendly reminder that you’re in complete control of your fandom experience. Although every community has its bad actors you are 100% in control of when you walk away from them and how much you let it bother you.

You’re always in control. Regardless of what the creator likes/dislikes, you can still

it's because white people view racism as an interpersonal issue rather than a societal one, so asking them to look inward at how they perpetuate it is an attack on the self rather than an interrogation into their own views of people of color.
I have a genuine question for white folks

How come when white people talk about racism they’re seen as brave or enlightened and applauded, but when BIPOC speak about racism we’re maligned and considered belligerent or tiresome?

We all notice the double standard. What gives?
2.) "but youre nicer"
no im not. i am being patronizing. on purpose. thats not Nice. every bipoc on your tl is explaining everything like you are an adult of the same caliber as them. if you treat my white, patronistic coddling as "nice" and nonwhite people's respect as aggression, That Is A Racism

Reminder that za/um is made up of businesspeople that stole disco elysium from the creators, kicked them out of the company, are currently suing them, and are making a mobile game of disco elysium

Do not pay money for DE, and do not give za/um a cent otherwise

Listen to me. Listen. If you're making images that will only be displayed on screens, YOU HAVE TO LET GO. You can calibrate your screens perfectly, but then 25k people will see it on their shitty $50 monitors or cracked phone and its out of your hands. Don't think of it. Achieve enlightenment.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Idc, "4 people disguised as construction workers heisted the Napoleon family jewels from the Louvre in 7 minutes by rolling up to the second-storey window on a basket lift" is an objectively hilarious event

you don't understand. as someone who isn't inherently good at art, stealing paintings from the museum is the *only* way i'm able to express myself creatively. i wouldn't be able to paint beautiful portraits. but by breaking into a museum and stealing the paintings, now i am

Reminder that Sly is demi af, and also ace people can and do still have intimate relationships that may or may not include sex and that they're all valid and do not negate an Ace identity. 🖤🤍💜

Highly recommend: throwing any and all creatives a DM/comment/email to let them know how their work touched you, whether now or in the past.

I never expect a reply. But doing this regularly not only helps others see their art is valued, but improves your own confidence & connection.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

If you were at the No Kings events, please wear a mask for the next few days.

Covid is not over.

You can infect others before you feel symptomatic.

People are losing their healthcare. They’re losing their food assistance. They’re losing housing.

We need to protect each other.
