Censorship is the issue I know the most about and am the most comfortable arguing about, but make no mistake it is NOT the only thing I CARE about. I just don't know enough about everything else to argue about it, only to have my own opinions about it.

So much this entire thread. MY parents were NOT great, so I to this DAY have a panic attack when ppl start talking numbers. I laugh it off most of the time but it's very real ptsd.
Those who weren’t resigned to the Math Idiot Garbage Bin as kids may not grasp how much “if you’re bad at math, you’ll die in a ditch and all will be better off for it” sentiment was floating around in the 90s and 2000s, but it sure felt real to me.

I think the worst thing about streaming era is that people don't get making-of featurettes anymore, and there's a whole host of kids who have no idea how sfx work. Which means they don't get that special flavour of wonder at seeing them. :(

The reason I can never play D&D with other people is bc I'm highly interested in all the different ways sex has influenced things, and well, you can't just die-roll through something that complex. I don't like die-rolling human interaction, that's no fun.

I did not end up being able to watch Outlander (too much rape) but! The music slaps and I listen to it all the time.

The real barrier to education is the fact that you're required to already know what you want to study. You can't even get into a college class without an expensive and lengthy process of proving you already know things. I think that's the proof that school isn't for learning, it's for credentialing.
