You may be right. But Harrison also chose to stay - so was probably being as dishonest and selfish as Fallon. I think he thought he could wear her down so was delighted when she became pregnant. All in all a dreadful situation. Needs to be resolved quickly now H is clearly not returning. #TheArchers

For all we know Mulligan preferred to work on his own and not mix with the local farmers - or any one - and may have actually discouraged contact.

Odd tho that he should choose to borrow some bit of equipment he needed from someone he barely knew. Must have been desperate.

Poor Zainab. She’s not shadowing Oliver, she’s doing his bloody job for him, including having access to confidential information she shouldn’t see. #TheArchers

Ridiculous. He should let someone else have the chance to run the hotel badly. #TheArchers

The City of London in a picture. The medieval church tower of All Hallows Staining. An historic island amidst skyscrapers and construction. 🗃️
A medieval church tower rises from engineering works beneath the skyscrapers.

Middlemarch is such an easy read. It’s just a bit of a trivial glimpse of provincial life really.

Have you ever been in a milking parlour? It’s noisy. With 60 cows you ain’t doing it splish-splash by hand into a bucket!!

Fair enough. Tho I might quibble whether “doing farming” is the same as wanting to take on a small farm, no doubt with a very neglected farmhouse!

It will be an interesting story line. The Grundy’s will be up in arms at the unfairness even tho Akram will probably have to employ George!

I’m not sure I knew Akram had been a farmer - I thought it was more helping out & then winding down a smallholding. Have they said anything since arriving about that being their aim? If so, how jolly convenient that this poor chap we’d never heard of has just died!

Ok. But it seems risky & one hell of a decision to buy & run a small farm to please what currently interests a 15 year old. An interest in animals doesn’t mean he’s bound to be a farmer, after all. But no pressure..

& how about also buying a treat to suit his sister’s current whim?

You’ve cracked it! And in true
#TheArchers fashion he’s got her pregnant - without even meeting her!

I think it partly leaks and otherwise gets sort of re-absorbed. But I’m not an expert. What happens with humans? #TheArchers

I thought he was perfectly happy plumber-ing (heaven knows it’ll pay better than farming). Must have missed his claiming to want to farm. He’d need full time help I’m sure - his son is 15 so can’t work full time for a while. Sounds bonkers to me. But we are talking about #TheArchers

Ditto! You rest up between milkings. #TheArchers.

Yes, having appendicitis (does anyone have that any more?) DID mean dad couldn’t work. Kind neighbours helped out, I think.
adrynan.bsky.social
Why would a GP and a plumber want to take on a farm?
#TheArchers
adrynan.bsky.social
Believe me, farmers don’t “get” colds!
#TheArchers

George could do the milking! For no pay. Community pay-back? #TheArchers

Odd to lend a bit of equipment to someone whose1st name you dont know. But I recall when my dad was farming there were a couple of farms where you hardly ever saw the occupants.

Rented or owned? Who’ll farm there now? Farmhouse to do up & sell the land 120 (?) not very big these days.

Alan Garner's Bronze Age shovel - found in the Alderley Edge copper mines in 1875, rediscovered by Alan in a dusty cupboard under his Primary School's stage, and since radiocarbon dated to 1750BC. One of many treasures in Manchester Museum - now massively revamped & European Museum of the Year.

Brilliant idea on Clarrie’s part - get a posh rich woman you don’t know that well to be a godparent for your child- guarantee of regular dosh. I seem to recall Caroline was rather bemused by the invitation.

What Ambridge needs are more George Barfords. Gruff but kindly.

Hmm. Clarrie was so grateful to Oliver that she gave in to Eddie’s pressure to run a b& b at Grange Farm in Oliver’s absence, without his agreement or knowledge!

You’re right about Ed. Shame he’s had so little influence on George over the years.

Tho taken to its obvious conclusion the real culprit wld be the very 1st person who fermented some food & 'invented' alcohol, leading, ultimately, to Alice's addiction

Yes, of course the Grundys get a raw deal & always have. Maybe they shld get involved in politics & do s/thing abt it.

I think this one starts this week. I’ve just been commenting on the promos - which feature the TV personality and play down the role of the expert. Not naming names.
