Simply amazing that the Supreme Court declared an end to legal race discrimination in the affirmative action case two years ago and now allows overt racism in both immigration arrests and redistricting.

Using race to help minorities? Bad. Using it to discriminate against them? Very, very good.

This isn’t just a political win for Trump. It’s a blessing for racial gerrymandering for political goals. It’s a gift to the administration’s and congressional GOP’s open embrace of white nationalism to hold power by stripping marginalized groups of their rights. This is an American tragedy.

When the base of your party are being targeted specifically because of their identity - Black, Latino, immigrant, women, gay, trans - telling the party to ignore them is a strategy for the end of your party. But go off I guess. Meanwhile, the white reunification strategy is a bipartisan effort.
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25

Win by more. Lose by less. It sounds simple but it’s a recipe for success executed by both Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill this week. Pollster Cornell Belcher says affordability was key, but “It's not just the cost of things. It's the nature of things in America.” #Velshi
Lessons from Tuesday’s elections: Win by more, lose by less
Ali Velshi is back at the Big Board to break down county results in Virginia and New Jersey which show how the map shifted blue from Donald Trump’s 2024 victory. While both Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill championed affordability, pollster Cornell Belcher says, “It's not just the cost of things. It's the nature of things in America.” He said Trump’s firing of federal workers, many of whom live in Virginia and his immigration crackdown in New Jersey, where one in four is foreign born, both contributed to GOP losses.

And when CA finally finishes counting its ballots 6 weeks from now, 11 out of 10. 🎉
I mean this is so far pretty close to a 10 out of 10 night for Democrats. Winning everywhere! Statewide in PA and GA, huge margin in VA gov race. Sherrill tracking double digits as well! Mamdani above 50% in a the highest turnout in NYC since 1969. Big pick ups in VA House of Delegates.
