We should start gatekeeping fanfic again. I do not like this era of blatantly attaching the fanfic that your filled the serials off to your published book and using your goddamn ao3 username as your pen name. It endangers fanfic and creates a path for corpos to take down fanfic hosting sites.

Jacob is always clear in his intentions and direction where Garrus is unsure and awkward and looking for guidance. No wonder Jacob puts so many people off. A Confident Black man that doesn't need a guiding hand tends to be off putting to a white audience.

Their loyalty missions both deal with punishing someone who was close to them in Ronald Taylor and Sidonis, however, Jacob is much firmer in his conviction and focused on helping the surviving members of the Gernsback while Garrus easily bends to Shepard's will for the decision.

Both are disillusioned with the people in power and choose to take direct action, though Jacob is purely about saving those in need while Garrus is focused on killing as many "bad guys" as possible.

#MassEffect If you really think about, Garrus's ME2 arc is just Jacob Taylor's Nachos reheated. Both get their own protagonist moments, Jacob saved the Council from assassination and Garrus makes his merc team on Omega, only Garrus ends up needing to be saved while Jacob succeeded.
