I was going through my downloads and came across these photos again. Such a great way to start off my running year @adharanand.bsky.social . Finished two 50km and one 50mile race. Only one DNF (did half a hundred miler). But this retreat with the highlight @ultradamo.bsky.social

That's a good point - one Alex Hutchinson made when we had our live chat with him the other night

Not only are we at record numbers of members and growing every day - this is our highest ever poll rating.

We're just getting started.

This is the politics of the 99% Vs the 1% for a country we can all afford to live in - plenty of room to grow.

Our next author Q&A is with the brilliant Alex Hutchinson. His book Endure is pretty much my favourite sports book of all time, so I'm super excited for this one ... sign up to take part in the event live online here: thewayoftherunner.com/talks

I've a sneaky feeling Georgia Hunter-Bell might nick it on the line

Fred Kerley is the first track athlete set to compete at The Enhanced Games. Not a big shock. No way he's beating Bolt's world records though, whatever he takes

Yeah, it's good for politics and news but not so much for running.

It was a real shame, for sure. I loved seeing Wightman hit the front with 200 to go ... pure power move. He was so close, oh man. The 1500m is a frenzied battle.

The steeplechase is always wild at the champs it seems

The athletics world is all still over on Twitter, which makes me a little sad. I'll just keep talking to myself on here though. I can't go back.

So far the winners of the men's distance events (800m up) at the World Athletics Champs have come from France, New Zealand, Portugal and Tanzania.

An unexpected mix. None yet from Kenya or Ethiopia.

The winners of the women's races, meanwhile, have all been from Kenya.

You won't believe me, but just before this race started, I thought to myself, 'I should have had a sneaky bet on Beamish winning this'. He's so fast at the finish ...

Oops. He sort of wriggled through rather than pushed his way, but still totally knocked two other runners off their stride. Hmmm ...

"I asked him - since we were there for a race - if he was a runner too. He nodded. He had run 2:06 for the marathon, he said. I nearly fell off my chair. Two-oh-six!?"
Late nights and Tokyo stories

I think the picture sums it up - incredible last lap burn up in the 10,000m in Tokyo, and France's Jimmy Gressier comes out on top. He's been near challenging for medals and shaking things up in his own inimitable style for years, but that was a major shock
