I went through a stage of feeling its literary references might be a little too self-conscious but came to realize that it was me not LC that was gauche and that cleverness in music should be celebrated rather than hidden. And the tunes are undeniable.

I liked the idiosyncratic beer selection and the student bedroom atmosphere. Sounds like the aroma is more Lynx Africa than patchouli incense now.

(Forgive me for butting in.) I've not been in since it changed hands. Judging from their insta it seems to be thriving but there appears to be a dodgy turn on almost every night.

Rum and coke does seem to induce particularly severe hangovers. I still recall with a shudder a two-day malaise I suffered in Bolivia nearly 20 years ago.
