End with a punch, not a recap.

"Unthaw" is a word, right? I've heard that. I've said it. You take meat out of the freezer and unthaw it.

Next question. Why is this a word? We already have "thaw."

This is giving me boned-deboned vibes.
Grammy-winning writer and producer Alexander Grant (by.alexander) put together on Spotify the ultimate playlist for a classic New York City night. I'm only through 2 of the 524 songs, but pretty good so far.

Foster care handed Charlie over to a sociopath. Now he's neck-deep in a criminal operation he never chose. Worse: Slender Man is tracking him and there's nowhere left to hide.

Making homemade Ding Dongs with tariff-free ingredients.

Everything’s about to change, y’all.
We don’t live in postcards, and neither do the stories that we tell. Show the roughness, the contradictions, the places polite society skips over. Because when you reveal the grit, the beauty that survives feels even more extraordinary.

Every writer bends the rules, but the real trick is teaching readers how to follow your version of them. Consistency builds trust, and once trained, readers will follow you anywhere.

So I thought the chili might cover up the fact that I was eating a hot dog. That's probably what the autopsy will say.
To relax and find that place of zen, I watch reruns of The Blacklist. My therapist says, with air quotes, "This is the sign of a healthy, well-functioning mind." Ha! Joke's on him. I don't have a therapist.
I pitched this in 2011: A do-gooding acupuncturist who battles an evil voodoo doll in THE VOODOOIST.

Hey, when you get your shot, take it.
They need to put some space between these two emoticons. Too often, I've accidentally haha'd at the eulogy of a friend’s daughter’s pet gecko, an uncle coming out of Tourette's rehab, a cat’s body rejecting its paw transplant. I mean, sometimes I meant to haha, but not every time.
The screenwriter's advice is to enter the scene as late as possible. Stories hit harder when they begin mid-action. Movement sparks questions that explanation can’t, pulling the reader forward before they can look away.

Every word should earn its place. Cut until only the details that move the story or deepen the moment are left on the page.
