This thread from Emma pretty much nails my feelings on A.I. art and why it will never be a thing. Creative works are about the WORK not the idea. Ideas are things that curse me to think about them for years and years. It's those years of work that make an idea worth anything.
So as someone who's a professional creator, and has always been a creator of art in many mediums ...

It's so good. Obviously the later shows from them are also good, but I would've traded them in for three more seasons of Detroiters.

Finished watching Vice Principles and Detroiters this week. I have obviously been watching them very very slowly since I knew they were a limited resource. Sucks to be done, but great shows!

All my xbox elite controllers are dying/have died in different ways, so I'm literally cannibalizing three broken controllers to make one that works. Would love for one of these $200 controllers to last. Looking at the PS5 Dualsense Edge, but not sure about its reliability or how well it does on PC.

Nintendo year in review if you're interested. You can definitely tell on my playtime chart when the Switch 2 came out. Also that I played a lot more Hades 2 and Xenoblade than I did the big Switch 2 launch games.

I have this current problem where I eat incredibly hot peppers every night and then the next day I feel incredibly sick from the incredibly hot peppers. But then then the next night I do it again.

I don't know, I'm super torn on whether I should never go back there or if I should bring a camera and make a documentary about him. I guess now a couple of hours later I just feel a bit gross and sad that I didn't get to look at the used video games.

It's important to note that this conversation started by him telling me about the community he was trying to build with his game shop, that things weren't the same playing games online and he wanted to make a welcoming place to talk about and play games in person.

This did feel different only because I didn't know him, I was just a customer in the store (the only customer), and definitely nothing about my Wu-Tang shirt said I was going to agree with him. Felt like someone having a mental breakdown, but like I'm sure there's no coming back from it actually.

Hard to tell exactly what was going on there—besides that there's a sickness in this country and it's just making racism ooze out of everything now—But it's also not new, he was an older black man and reminded me of self-hating older black men in my family, the "sagging jeans are the problem" folks.

I kept trying to step away to look at the video games in the store, and he kept continuing the conversation. Because I was just killing time, I actually had some fun arguing with him—like my dad used to do to the Jehovah's Witnesses that would knock on the door, but now that I'm away from it... WOW.

Had an hour to kill in Burbank today, grabbed a coffee and wandered into a vintage video game store I'd never heard. The owner ended up talking at me for 30 minutes about racist youtubers and how the immigrants are the problem. I argued with him a while and then left. It was wild.
