I like this a lot and my take I was explaining to some middle aged people the other night that the Gin Blossoms are a surprisingly big influence on young bands the past ten years still remains on point.
I think it was on our old Twitter account a while back that I said we wrote the most emo gin blossoms song of all time, and now I can tell you all that I was talking about this one

“A Small Step” is about finding priorities and pockets of joy in a world that makes the idea of true personal freedom an impossibility. Striving to make a positive difference where you can, alongside folks you love.

simpsons line i say a lot without any care whether or not someone gets the reference: "yeah, eeeeeeverybody likes roller skatin'"
sometimes when i'm backing out, i can't see pedestrians/other cars bc of my car's rearview camera, whether it's obstructed by other cars or the angle isn't wide enough. i'm good enough at maneuvering the car that it's not really a problem getting in.
yeah usually, i'm not waiting for loss prevention at target to catch up to me
lord forgive me but i've become a "backing into parking spaces" guy in a few scenarios
