Regarding the midterms, please explain to me why Trump will NOT declare martial law, send in federalized troops to Democratic strongholds, seize voting machines, paper ballots & shut down Democratic majority precincts. Who's gonna stop him? DOJ? Congress? SCOTUS?

My criticism of Garland is independent of Smith. Although, having opened opened the issue of filing docs case in Fla Weissmann should've followed up to test Smith's reasons. The questions are obvious to a prosecutor of Weismann's experience.

I have the highest regard for both Smith & Weissmann. Smith rightly noted "delay helps the defense." That opened the door to a dozen issues not touched on. Also, Weismann failed to asked obvious follow-up Qs on filing docs case in Fla. Special counsel process Q&A avoided obvious issues.

Roberts began gutting the VRA in his 2013 decision eliminating section 5. This term SCOTUS will eliminate (or render ineffective) section 2. Roe v. Wade overruled. Chevron Doctrine eliminated. SCOTUS' presidential immunity is a plenary tool to eliminate rights & freedoms not specifically gutted.
