God I really do love Good Omens at a soul deep level. The whole "sense of justice" thing means my interests don't usually survive real life cancellations.

But the graphic novel I pre-ordered forever ago made me tear up and laugh out loud just like the book always has.

I'm hoping for more on Tomodachi, even if there's not a release date. Hades 2 date would be incredible though!
There's also been some balatro DLC bubbling for a while, but X-Box is more likely to get that announcement.

Anything you're hoping for/expecting from this one?

The thing I like most about being alive is the chronic physical pain just meshing like fuck with the psychic pain of living in a dictatorship of idiots.

Are you guys planning to do DLC in the long run? I'd happily pay for more books to get even more puzzle goodness!

For the love of god, let me opt out of fathers day notifications on everything.

That's incredible of you- I bought @laurakbuzz.bsky.social's Uncomfortable Labels from you and it changed my life, I'm so happy to hear you're doing what you can to support her and others harmed by this rubbish situation ♥️

@portalbookshop.bsky.social I know its pride month so it's probably crazy, but I was wondering if you've got any kind of policy about selling Unbound/Boundless books while they're refusing to pay their authors? No worries if it's out of your hands ♥️
acedare.bsky.social
I'm sure you have a million other things on your mind, but is there something we should be asking bookstores to do to help these authors? Promote you more? Refuse to sell until it's fixed?

Your book changed my life in the best way and I hate the idea that you never got compensated for that.

Literally my most purchased game because it's so cheap and easy to gift to friends while knowing they'll have a good time. No game is for everyone but this is a close as it gets to me!

Don't watch it lol. Watching the finale of Sherlock was literally a life changing moment, it sucks SO much. And Steven is the lead writer on it, building it on his story arc. Hard to recover reputation from that tbh

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's the devil incarnate. But he still has massive blind spots that irritate me beyond reason, his dialogue is insufferable at times and twists are often too twee for my taste (Joy to the World was rough)

The boner joke in the Crimson Horror and the way Amy keeps trying to kiss the doctor without consent were honestly the biggest flags of that criticism when they first came up. Plus the reason he gave for hiring Karen Gillan in the first place.
acedare.bsky.social
Fair- I just remember the frustration of the "mystery" not being solvable by the audience through obscuring details. Honestly, very few Dr Who series ever do the series hook successfully in my mind. (I think S2, S4, S8 are the only ones that come close.)
acedare.bsky.social
Important context for this the fact I am Sherlock Holmes writer and his version of Sherlock has made me have very little patience for his creative choices in service of not letting the audience "out smart" him
acedare.bsky.social
The Doctor definitely treats Amy as "out of the ordinary" for reasons he doesn't understand. Bill, again, feels like a response to these criticisms that's too short to fully succeed
acedare.bsky.social
That's where I disagree- it's Doctor Who. It doesn't need the mystery to ALWAYS be a woman. It really undermines their characters to be plot devices that way. And that's where my fundamental issue with Moffat is. He sets up mysteries he is so afraid of being solved he makes them incomprehensible.
acedare.bsky.social
But as the audience, the mystery box is what we're given. She's introduced as interesting because she's a mystery. She's not seen as a person for so long that it made me fall off catching up on real time for months.
acedare.bsky.social
Much of the problem for me is the way her introduction- over several months when the show was airing- made 2 versions of her that didn't matter before she showed up herself. The focus was on why she matters to the Doctor, and not her.

I feel as though writing a story about Amy, Clara or Bill prior to their involvement with Doctor is much much harder than it is for Donna, Martha or Rose. Their families and personal struggles are well established whereas nothing in Amy, Clara or Bill's lives is pulling them back home?
acedare.bsky.social
Amy has no friends or family. It's a defining plot point about her. Clara's "Impossible Girl" plot exists because her timeline is entwined with the Doctor, not related to anything in her own life. To me Bill's series was Moffat trying to respond to the criticism but 1 season isn't enough to fix it.

RTD falls into a LOT of the same pitfalls. But companions not having anything in their life before the Doctor/outside of him is not one of them. My complaining is mainly at the people saying we should have Moffat back, forgetting his spaghetti plots and paper thin women.
acedare.bsky.social
It is a better execution of the same bad idea, giving a character who was never interested in kids a sudden push into motherhood. The astonaut plot is so convoluted, it's a pain to follow. Every woman in that era only exists to revolve around the Doctor they have no life/character outside of him.
acedare.bsky.social
I don't care how bad the new episodes of Doctor Who are, I am not going to start pretending Steven Moffat wasn't also a complete hack during his era of the show.
Was he worse? I think so but that part is fully opinion
Explain season 6 in a way that makes sense or is compelling, I fucking dare you.
