My favorite thing about Pixiv is that once in a blue moon, I will stumble upon an artist so good it makes me wonder why the hell they are there, and then I remember that porn might be the one subset of their works that is monetizable.
"people with renaissance-level art skills don't exist anymore" yes they do their username is something like 03748218_ and they spend all their time drawing pornography so deranged it'd kill hugh hefner a second time

Speaking in the normal talking range but intentionally suppressing the chest resonance and pushing the voice into the nasal space => femboy voice

The only reason I can think of to collect this much data is to quietly disappear every arriving person and replace them with a bio-engineered replica
NEW: Five years of social media history is only a fraction of what the US Government will shortly demand of overseas visitors.

The full requirements will end tourism in the United States.

Below is the full, mind-blowing list.

Not to criticize a game I never played but one of the most suspicious kinds of publicity a story can get is being praised for its tear-jerkiness.

So far, I've had very little (luck)success using AUR. The access to it may not be that big of an advantage after all.

Flutter be like

You receive: an application that runs everywhere

Also you receive: 200MB of what is effectively a game engine to run the app

It is so funny to see people call Telegram a private and secure messenger; ironically, for many users, it kind of is given what the alternatives known to them are.

Winter is weird cause going outside sucks when it is cold but also once I am outside, I have the motivation to move and get things done quickly but also once I get home, I am spent and basically hibernating.

I want to see the core plot of Melancholia revisited but in a less philosophical and more hard sci-fi sense. Particularly, the tidal effects on the atmosphere, the oceans, and the Earth itself would make for a somewhat unconventional but spectacular catastrophe.

Inchresting.

Makes me wonder,

1. If better online privacy would make it more difficult to instantiate these practices

2. What other companies (online marketplaces, ticket sellers) do this exact thing, and not just in the US but everywhere
EXCLUSIVE: We found that Instacart is using AI algorithms to charge customers different prices for the same items.

It's not just online. It's in physical grocery stores too.

Our months-long investigation with @consumerreports.org and @groundwork.bsky.social found it could cost families $1200/year.

Update: you can fool this nonsense by pointing the camera at the face on the screen. Takes some patience but it works. Just use some old dude from stock photos or an actor's photo or smth like that.
Yep, just as I expected. Although, I wonder if showing this thing a picture on the screen will fool it. Gonna try it rn

Also, just noticed that YouTube now lets you manually set your country but that, obviously, doesn't change anything
PSA:

1. Videos about Horses the Banned Game get age-restricted

2. Now I know why YouTube obsessively (and since a few days ago, successfully) tries to guess the users' actual location bc VPNs no longer work to bypass verification.

Here's the shark. Looks a bit less ridiculous, I must admit.

This picture has been making the rounds again, and is being misidentified again.

This is a GOOSEFISH.

This is NOT a tasselled wobbegong shark.

It’s a great pic. I get why people are very excited about it. But it’s as easy to give it the right name as the wrong one.

there isn't really a "right" way to engage with retro tech but being able to divorce yourself from nostalgia and not blindly treating that nostalgia as a universal, shared experience are important skills to have. this is one of those cases; a *lot* of people at the time hated what w98 represented

I had to google what 'protected belief' stands for in the lingo and was disappointed but not surprised.
the guardian article has been up an hour and literally contains nothing but the background and a title framing it as a "partial victory" (she won on 1/8 counts – essentially that nhs fife didn't follow proper complaints procedure, with every single one of the precedents for terf goodies imploding)
