The biggest obstacle would be that the people running Labour would rather Tory/Reform to anything even mildly progressive. They would rather Farage than someone anywhere to the left of their current position.

Labour are nowhere near "centre-left". They are, at best, "centre-right", if not just plain "right". Starmer is way more right-wing than David Cameron and Thetesa May.
