Dimming the overhead lights, Rey changes the music coming over the speakers from the company mandated soft rock playlist to her favourite true crime podcast.
Finn insisted she wait until he left to make the switch, claiming that her "unhinged" listening habits cause him nightmares. The jerk gives her a hard time even when she's finishing closing all on her own just so he can go on a date with his new boyfriend.
Lucky he's cute or she wouldn't bother to put up with him.
She winds around the shop, wiping down tables and clearing stray ceramic mugs, so swept up in the details of the Colonel Russel Williams case that she misses the sound of the locked front door opening.
" Rey.
She whirls to face the intruder, dropping one of the mugs to the tile floor in her surprise.
He doesn't flinch at the crash, doesn't take his eyes off of her face as he strides farther into the cafe.
