We need to advance vaccine technology:
1. nasal vaccines
2. eVLPs
3. induce Trm -resident memory T cells- mRNA of SP and IL-12 delivered via lipid nanoparticles
4. divert antigen presentation from macrophages to dendritic cells

In the last 6 years we have seen rehashed immunolgy to explain herd immunity - against a vascular pathogen, immune dysregulation by viral persistence - which through aerosol spread can explode through population with immune evasive variants.
2 patients below 3 years of age with LC in last 2 weeks.

"Most RNA viruses that induce long-lasting antibody immunity have on their surface rigid repetitive structures spaced at 5–10 nm . For coronaviruses, the long spike proteins are embedded in a fluid membrane, which are often loosely floating and widely spaced at 25 nm apart.

Long lasting plasma cells- holy grail of B cell immunity.
Spike proteins are 25 nm apart - and you need these surface proteins like in other viruses 5 to 10 nm apart to interlink two of these proteins to induce Long lasting plasma cells
Without interlinking by Abs we only induce SLPC ~4months!

There is no herd immunity either with infection and/or vaccination.
