I had a deeply terrifying experience earlier this week. So scary that I haven’t been able to write about until now.

I had to ride an escalator and stood frozen at the bottom thinking it might stop working and I would have to walk to the top. In the end, I did it.

Shivers still run down my spine.

Of course I believe our troops should be paid, but so should all Federal employees.

As a specific example: the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, most employees were exempted and go to work, primarily civilian workers. They are protecting us by being there and should be paid now, just like our troops.
