On the plus side, the PAL DVDs are insanely affordable compared to the NTSC releases.

A recent order of all 6 stories from Season 13 of classic Doctor Who, showing the prices ranging from 3-5 pounds for single stories, 10 pounds for a double story boxset. We had to pay at LEAST 3 times that on our side of the pond for the (lovely covers, inferior picture quality)
NTSC releases in North America.

Hey it's an upgrade over my R1 NTSC DVDs. That's all I wanted, BBC. An upgrade. You know, like you've done with the previous 17 sets?!? Keep AI OUT of Doctor Who! So i guess I'll look forward to the extras on the Blu-ray set, and the lovely cover art & enjoy the stories of Season 13 on the PAL DVDs.

I haven't even received the set yet, but I've heard more than enough from the fans to know I'm going to be pissed that they fucked up my all time favorite season of Doctor Who on Blu-ray with AI shenanigans. So I did the rational, sensible thing and rage purchased all 6 stories of S13 on R2 PAL DVD.

Well holy crap, you're the "that's the book" person! This is one I've re-shared I don't know how many times over the years. What's funny is I had JUST read the book (1818 version) and was working my way through as many adaptations as I could get my hands on at the time, perfect timing lol
