Just a couple of weeks after Casaro, Struzan also left us.
With them, the golden age of the great film poster artists ends.

Their masterpieces remain, but today for me the world is a little sadder and grayer.

Illustration I made for S.A. Harian's book Briardark. I'm just a Dan who is sharing what I draw with pens and paper on my personal art journey. Art is what I do to process my feelings about and escape from the world for a bit in the evenings and on weekends.

Pen drawing that is mostly black and white focused on a humanoid figure with many different organic growths coming out of their back that contain eyes, while the upper part of their face is covered by a solid plate that has the skin of the lower part of the face connected to it by rivets. The Maw:

The protagonist called Wolfgang is engulfed in the blighted roots of the twisted tree in the throes of a nightmare. A voice tells him "Take heed, young Durward. These lands know only death, and within its centre, a horror festers. It feasts on all its roots can teach, and what life remains dwindles."
The second page shows a close up of the branches of this twisted tree. Between its panels are images of rot, bodies in body bags, dead fish floating, and the branches are infested with maggots. The voice continues "Soon, there will be naught to satisfy its hunger. But for every poison, there is an antidote."
