A pair of pumpkin orange hand knit socks laid out on a tan tapestry. The socks are striped at the cuff in cream, burnt orange and chocolate brown. The leg of the sock has an Aran style texture. The heel is a simple short row heel (that could be swapped out for your favorite style of heel easily). And finally, the same cream, brown and orange wool is used for a little colorwork pattern across the foot. The sock pattern is available in multiple sizes and is for sale on Etsy and Ravelry. I’ve been trying my hand at crochet this summer. I’m not great at it, but somehow this feels less taxing on my brain in all the heat. This is the Granny Ripple Blanket by Staci Perry. I’m using a big bag of leftover knit picks palette & loving it! #fiberarts #yarn #crochet

They are great for driving! I keep a pair in the car so my hands don’t get sun spots (added bonus - nice if the steering wheel is unbearably hot/cold)

#showmeyourknits is blankets this week. Here’s two I knit for twin babies a few years ago. The pattern is called Not Quite Colorblock - which I modified to be just striped on the 2nd blanket. I used Knit Picks Heatherly yarn (an excellent choice for baby items)

Don’t be scared! Cables are fun. The children’s book “The Monster at the End of this Book” is sitting beside a toddler sized wool hat. The hat was hand knit using purple yarn & features all over cables. It has a pink faux fur Pom-pom on top.
