My new album 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙮 is out now! Through this release I wrestle with what is public and private, true and false, as the world slides deeper into a fascist surveillance state.

🎧 LISTEN/PURCHASE → yannnovak.bandcamp.com/album/contin...
The album cover for 'Continuity' by Yann Novak. Its a dark grey photo background of electric and phone cables nested together on a pole. Over top is 42 lines of white text that are as wide as they are tall, its encrypted text so its gibberish all the way until the end where there are two == and then a few spaces and the word Continuity.

This is why I subscribe to @theverge.com! Another amazing article by @janus.bsky.social, I have had so many loose idea around this stuff floating in my head but did not have the head space or history to put them together. So thankful for this kind of reporting!

Atarashii Gakko! - AG! Calling album cover. The band apparently in mid air, with clouds.

My theory is the memory slots we used for that are now occupied by passwords.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Republicans want to double your healthcare costs.

Republicans want to rip healthcare away from 15 million people.

Republicans want to give their billionaire donors handouts at your expense.

And they’re lying about it every chance they get.

Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad. Stop believing I wanna see it or that I'll understand, I don't and I won't. If you're just trying to troll me, I've seen way worse, i'll restrict and move on. But please, if you've got any decency, just stop doing this to him and to me, to everyone even, full stop. It's dumb, it's a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it's NOT what he'd want.
To watch the legacies of real people be condensed down to 'this vaguely looks and sounds like them so that's enough,
, just so
other people can churn out horrible TikTok slop puppeteering them is maddening. You're not making art, you're making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else's throat hoping they'll give you a little thumbs up and like it.
Gross. And for the love of EVERYTHING, stop calling it 'the future. Al is just badly recycling and regurgitating the past to be reconsumed. You are taking in the Human Centipede of content, and from the very very end of the line, all while the folks at the front laugh and laugh, consume and consume.

It is morally wrong to want a computer to be sentient. If you owned a sentient thing, you would be a slaver. If you want sentient computers to exist, you just want to create a new kind of slavery. The ethics are as simple as that. Sorry if this offends

"Un lavoro che affascina, inquieta e obbliga a riascoltare il modo in cui siamo stati abituati a vedere o peggio, a sorvegliare, IL REALE."

From a great review of my recent album 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙮 in Italian magazine Rockerilla.
Scan of a review of 'Continuity' from Italian Magazine Rockerilla, it reads: Tre lunghe tracce: Metric of Caution, Context Collapse e Zones of Privacy, si estendono nell'oscura continuità di questo lavoro. Mirco Salvadori
