🇦🇺 Matt Dinham's long road back to racing

🗣️ “I think psychologically it’s pretty big for me,” Dinham told Domestique in 🇨🇳 Chongzuo. “It’s been such a long time already that you start forgetting what it’s like to ride a bike."

Arkéa are no more. Expected, but nonetheless very sad for all of the riders and staff affected, and for what it means on a broader scale for cycling 😢

🇫🇷 Arkéa-B&B Hotels team manager 🇫🇷 Emmanuel Hubert has informed staff and riders that the French cycling team will close down after failing to secure financial backing by the UCI's October 15 deadline.

It's totally fair enough for riders to choose what they want to do, it leaves space for more riders to do what they're passionate about.

Professionalism, you're the one who pointed out he called the TDF 'a necessary evil' - in addition to the other negative comments he has made. A total slap in the face to those who actually care about the race and work their arses off in the hope of making it there.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Whoa what a thought! Imagining all kinds of different ways we could spend July 😅
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Oh yes. Let's have this, I love it!
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Definitely. I know that 'he's paid to do a job' theory is true on an objective level and plenty of the riders aren't there to win but to work for their team, but this is cycling, if the leaders at least aren't in it for the romance and the beauty of it, it just feels a bit sad.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Love this. Let's manifest it 🕯️

I think this is enough to push me over the edge into despair. Of all the riders at that race who desperately want to be there, and to win, and the person who is winning doesn't even like the race. Just plain depressing.

Pogi calling the TDF "a necessary evil", he always says the nicest things about his favourite race ❤️
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
That is exactly what I'm anticipating 🙏
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Indeed. I'm thinking team meditation sessions, training camp sound baths, and maybe a small volume of zen wisdom.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
🙄

On the one hand I hope they don't win any more at all and on the other, I kind of hope they make it 100 and then just quit it already next season 🙃

Rogla on Remco arriving and taking the limelight (in a good way!): "I'm hoping that maybe I'll have a little more peace, a little more freedom."

Predicting that 2026 Primož is going to be the most zen Primož we've ever witnessed 🧘‍♂️😂

Mavi Garcia continues on for another year - but re-signs with UAE Team ADQ! LOVE to see Mavi continuing on - she is still in top shape but damn, UAE are going to be so strong next year, adding Garcia, Rooijjakkers, and Jastrab already this off-season 😦
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Oh no, that's disappointing, I thought we were done. Was wishful thinking maybe.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
That's a better system, even if it is unofficial. I would love it if the UCI stepped in and restricted the number of these smaller races the biggest teams could enter but won't hold my breath.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Pure greed to the last. The Italian classics season has been completely steamrollered by UAE.

I am happy for Florian Vermeersch, he is such a talent. But was really pleased to finish the season watching Paris-Tours.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
It was a breath of fresh air. So nice that I didn't really mind who won in the end, was hoping it would be a French team but Trentin is a top man so happy for him.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Ah did he? I haven't seen the race but am actually happy for him, UAE-ness notwithstanding, he's a good guy and was so excited for that race! I enjoyed a day without their looming presence in the race I was watching though I must say.
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
Paris-Tours!! WOW! What the heck happened at the end. That was crazy. I'm sad the lead duo couldn't take it to the line but the tension was so good.

And no UAE in sight. Glorious 🤩
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
It's like the actual end of an era, so very many significant riders retiring this season 🥺
writebikerepeat.bsky.social
OK now I've digested the reactions and rewatched the final I'm not only gutted for Shirin, but raging over how that all unfolded 😭 #justiceforshirin
