I love using "mirror parties" in my campaigns. These are groups of NPCs that are shaped more or less like the player's characters. I've learned a few bits of best practices over the years, so here's my suite of advice for GMing those sorts of parties.

Make the Most of Mirror Parties

Mirror parties are a convenient reflection of the player characters. Throw them into a tabletop campaign to force your players to consider who they really are and what they want.

Advice for composers and bedroom producers:

Learn drum rudiments.

They’re easy to grasp, and incorporating flams, drags, rolls, and paradiddles will help your percussion writing in any genre.

One aspect of sleepwalking into authoritarianism that I wasn't expecting is just how little there is to say about it.

"Yeah, this predictably evil thing is bad."
"Oh, that thing Trump did is bad."
"All these (technically illegal) things are very bad."

It's straight up not very interesting.
