Dr. Susan Monarez: “I could have stayed silent, agreed to the demands, and no one would have known. What the public would have seen were scientists dismissed without cause and vaccine protections quietly eroded…I would have lost the one thing that cannot be replaced: My integrity.”

Combining my two favorite things, neurodegeneration and genetics research 🧠 🧬! Very cool case studies and implications! 🧪
Why am I so personally hopeful that #Downsyndrome -associated #Alzheimer's disease is preventable? It's because of two case studies of people with Ds, who happened to be born *without* a triplication of their Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) gene and never developed dementia during their lives. lol was it from me? 🤣

Bluesky @bsky.app · Dec 3
Scientists, academics, researchers: We’re excited to share that @altmetric.com is now tracking mentions of your research on Bluesky! 🧪
There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.

A Place of Joy.
Please add me! ALS researcher here! 👋
