Child: What do you WANT from purple?

Me: ...

Child, patiently: Think of what you wanted from yellow. Will purple give you that? No.

I believe in science and I believe the secretary of health and human services needs a strong scientific background and an ability to correctly analyze research to set priorities along with other experts in the field. RFK Jr. is not that person. Please read the letter and, if you agree, please sign.
#covid #LongCovid #NEISVoid #mecfs there's gonna be a virtual rally for #NoKings where #pwLC will say we do NOT like rfk even though he apparently thinks we do 😒 we're trying to get as many people as possible to sign our letter to the senate HELP committee asking them to fire rfk!

Have set myself up to drown in admin for a season and realizing the answer is to take more notes and take longer to be responsive on anything that’s not critical.

(Having a phone is critical.)
There’s just not much to work with
I'm generalizing, but why do conservatives remember political irritations for so much longer than liberals?

It's been 17 years since Obama said some voters "cling to their guns, to their religion" and I heard a senator denounce that last month.

Obvious theory: Media ecosystem puts it on repeat
Imagine caring about Kaepernick in the year of our lord 2025
The 👁️👁️ in here is that AZ is prepping a lawsuit against the federal gov for **taxation without representation*^ given it’s been 21 days and Grijalva is no closer to being sworn in.
Turned off replies because I can’t process kindness, will have to circle back when I can.
Today was my last day at my job. Tomorrow’s my first day on long term disability.

I loved that job, that workplace, that project with all my heart. I had one of those rare situations where I was well supported to do meaningful work.

I am so sick I forgot it was today.
Long covid, 5.5 years.
It will be hard. So many of us are trained to stop like a clock. But this is the only way forward and out.
This sentiment, the "we do not demobilize" is what this campaign needs to preach from here on out. Getting the work done is going to require EFFORT. Taking the campaign's infrastructure and applying it to advocacy and political pressure will be crucial - mobilization is the right word.
"After we win in November, we do not demobilize. The rich and corporate interests who tried to buy this election with the millions they stole from our pockets will want to see us fail.

We won’t let them." - Chi Ossé

Wait but the helicopter crashed between the trees and the building was real?
On my pile it goes. Thank you!
The first novella in Hearts in Atlantis, called Low Men in Yellow Coats, is at the center of what he does really well.
…should I read Billy Summers?

My list would have The Stand as the doorstopper and then The Gunslinger, original version, and then novellas. Low Men in Yellow Coats. The Langoliers, Rage/Getting It On, The Long Walk.

If I could only pick one thing it would be Low Men in Yellow Coats.

Laughing. This exactly.
haven’t been to Mass in decades, but this kind of stuff activates Treadstone-level protocols in cultural Catholics
Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

More signs. Per 1st sign, many Illinoisans would like to know why @govpritzker.illinois.gov has not demanded access to Broadview ICE, not come here & has deployed IL state troopers all over the Chi metro area incldg Broadview. ISP are helping ICE/DHS. Where are you, JB? Why are staties helping ICE??

“No, Speaker Johnson — the No Kings rally on October 18 is not a hate America rally. In fact, it’s quite the contrary: It’s a love America rally.” #NoKings
Genuinely delighted to give them props for finally doing the things I felt like the doctrine wanted ME to do.
Scroll down for some excellent explaining of Catholic activism at work.

I’ve been angry at the church all my life (mom’s annulment) but when they do get aligned with themselves it’s really powerful. They carried the presence of Christ to the ICE facility - as the Pope asked! - and were denied.
It's always good to see priests who still remember there are *seven* Catholic social principles. Also, that noise you hear is the USCCB screeching to the Vatican and getting back nothing, lol

I feel like I haven’t been able to be who I want to be in the world for a long time but always, there’s more there than I think.

I’ll be damned if I can remember his last name. It’s French for something bad.
He would just look at my place and decide on a project for the year. I would move my car when it was time for him to swap out storing snowmobiles for the camper. It worked really well.
He saw I wasn’t using my garage and asked if he could use it. Offered me money and I turned him down so he started doing work for me. Almost always this was stuff that never occurred to me, like reroofing the south side of the garage.
I told my neighbor I’m moving and his face fell and he said Well that fucking sucks, in a way that reminded me that I actually have worked with him to set up some trades that were really good for both of us.
