You need to ask him what you want to know:
Is there a panel?
Is he doing everything by himself?
Will he provide an outline of issues/topics to be discussed?
What is the format?
Is this a debate or a forum?
I still maintain this is a mistake, and I don't mean that as a slight toward you. You don't back down from a challenge. But this is 5 or so days out from the election and you should be out knocking, making calls, etc. She is going to pack it with her people. You're not going to accomplish anything other than getting booed and hissed at. And she gets a news story right before the election of how great she did. I am imploring you to reconsider this Maybe it will look bad if you back out but you can spin it. Turn it on her by putting out a statement that says you have not been given specifics and yo are committed to continuing to knock doors and reach residents, and not to platforms that allow your opponent to continue spreading lies and propaganda. Or something. Anything. Just get out of the debate.
I also wanted to ask: When are you sending out a mailer? You haven't sent out anything yet, right? I mean, at a minimum, you should send out 2. And one of them should include the ridiculous things she has said and/or supported.
