» wouldn't have known I was there at the time. I was intangible. Overseers are supposed to observe but never engage."
"I was there on the night that Max Jägerman died," Aiden murmurs softly, actually speaking for the first time. "I oversaw it. You were there, Grace, Stephanie, Ruth, Pete... everyone that wanted to see Max reduced to his bare emotions."

He puts a hand on the bars, fingers slipping through.

"You »
» Wiggly and himself.

A God and an angel.

One of the Lords in Black may well be responsible for his punishment.

"Please, forgive my ignorance! I didn't know any better!"
He gives a soft squeak, golden light faintly glowing around him and pushing at the darkness, but failing to make any difference.

"I'm an angel!" he protests, struggling against the bindings. "I'm not human, I'm an angel!"

It's at this moment he realises what kind of connection may lie between »
|| You ever commit to watching something and you know it's going to take a while but then you blink and it's nearly 4am?

Oops.
|| I wonder if at any point, Aiden is going to get a proper look at Wiggly and realise how much he looks like Richie. 😂
|| I'm watching it currently because of you. 😂

Enjoying myself immensely, I'm on the song Just For Once. 👀
» anything and everything that came into contact with... it."

He averts his gaze, ears declining incrementally.

"These things leave traces behind. In humans, in animals. It's like a fingerprint for the non-corporeal. They likely believe you're heading the same way, soon to be on the other side."
» He sighs heavily, the first noise he's actually made.

"The scientists spoke about paranormal activity. The walking dead. Ghosts, spectres, things beyond belief. Entities so powerful they could kill from beyond the mortal veil. I think they're trying to counter it. I think they're collecting »
Aiden sits down, tucking his knees to his chest and putting his chin on them.

"Exactly. People go missing. You're missing now. I was... different once. I don't know who or what I am, but I know you. Your friends, your enemy, I saw all of it. At least, on the top floor. I ran away after that." »
+ kind of go missing and… and…”

Richie pales again.

“Did you say… haunted house?”
The rabbit's ears drop, his nose twitching nervously. He feigns a laugh, not quite managing to make it sound genuine.

"You seem like a busy man, I don't want to waste your time."

He exhales slowly, feeling his heart start to race. Any chance he had of escaping just vanished.

"I should go..."
"I gathered that."

He begins tapping his foot impatiently. Normally, he's rather sweet and softly-spoken, but not when it could come across as weakness.

"Tell me your price so I can decline it and get out of here."
» a cage, I was a standard rabbit... I was in Hatchetfield too..."

He composes himself, exhaling softly, then reaches out an arm through the bars.

"Richie, calm down. Whatever's going on, it's linked to your town. Nobody knows it better than you, so you need a clear head."
"Oh my goodness... Hatchetfield. You're from Hatchetfield, aren't you? There was a kid there who kinda... fell through the floor in a haunted house, got impaled on some wood. Died, I think. I was there."

Aiden stops, startling at the realisation.

"I was... there. Before this, before I woke up in »
+ here. Please — this can’t be happening. This is NOT happening!!”

He fumbles for his inhaler desperately.

“I — I need OUT. I need to get out of here!!”
"Rrrgh. What is it with these kinds of people—"

He buries his face in his hands, then rakes them through his hair.

"I heard some kids talking about you. Figured you might be worth a shot. But no, I don't. Don't care either, not if you're behaving like that."
"I'm a rabbit. We can get anywhere. I'm like... ninety-percent fur. Look, that's not important."

He watches the display with a combination of interest and concern, but doesn't seem afraid.

"I was created by humans. Bad ones. The scum of the earth. Don't you want to make them disappear?"
|| Yeah, I've changed Nills' for that reason. But hey, she's your character. You should write her as you please. My lore is deep set but I still wish I hadn't tamed it down. Character growth can come from tragedy.
|| I have now done so about three times. 👀

Nills has died over his time existing via:

Blood loss due to being a thief.
Poison in a restaurant as a waiter.
Being a ballet star who killed a man during an SA attempt and overdosed on drugged water.

There's no harm in a refresh. 🙂‍↕️
Aiden communicates in body language, twitches of the nose, earflicks, chirps and trills, but his voice comes as if it's spoken, silken and soft.

His ears decline, but he stands his ground and ignores his fear.

"I ask for your help, Highness. In banishing someone to the Black and White."
» order for them to bring you here, where are you from?"

He makes calming gestures with his paws, trying to encourage Richie to compose his breathing.
"Shhh! If you make too much noise, they'll send someone in to silence you!"

Aiden gestures to a muzzle in the cage with him, the straps sliced by a skewed line as if suggesting a hasty cut was made.

"They're gathering genetics in order to build something. You must be of interest to them in »
+ He was kidnapped?! Thrown in here?! Richie slowly reaches up to touch his head, which he notices has started to throb. His hand comes away with blood.

“What — what’s going on. Why am I here?! You — you’re a RABBIT!”

Richie looks back to Aiden, starting to hyperventilate.

“Scientists?!”
Morning stretches, have to stay limber for—

What was that?
