[4/6] Old men discuss marriage.

In the first panel the pair are lounging together on a sofa, dressed in casual clothing and implied that they've been chatting about their relationship past for a while. Spamton has his feet up in Tenna's lap and is leaning into his arm, looking sheepish as he says "Haha yeesh, you really did a numbers game on the sweet ride!" in reference to Tenna having trashed Spamton's car after he disappeared. His internal monologue says "sorry old friend, you took one for the team". Tenna responds "not one of my star moments, no", looking embarrassed. In the next panel Spamton looks away in shame, adding "not one of mine either, ha. Honestly don't know what you saw in- saw in- saw in" as his speech breaks into glitching. Spamton responds to that by violently slamming his puppet jaw shut with one hand, panting in exertion from the glitch and the self harm right after as Tenna protests with a "hey, don't", putting a hand on Spamton's shoulder in a comforting manner. In the next panel, Spamton's internal thoughts are playing the sound of a reversing truck while he tries to backtrack himself, awkwardly laughing and saying "of course now I'm a real catch 22, a real tell don't show even, ha, but back then - good heaven, please-" as Tenna interrupts him with a "stop! Tenna's monologue continues: "Ha, I'd be lying if I said I didn't still miss some of it! I liked doing TV time, I took pride in being the center of it all, being in control... And most of all I miss the love we used to have". In the following panel you can see current day Tenna's hands as he gently rubs the ring finger of his left hand between his right pointer and thumb, contemplating what seems to be the absence of a wedding ring. He continues: "Back then I really thought, despite everything, it was inevitable that we would... well." The last panel shows the moment from the past where Tenna picked up the phone right after Spamton ran out on him, the whole background pitch black as he stands in fearful solitude, only the open door through which Spamton left him visible behind him, glowing ominously. Current day Spamton tries to interrupt this flashback by attempting to call Tenna's name despite his vocal glitches, but Tenna interrupts him instead to finish with "I know now that it could never have worked out." And it's the first thing that I ever realized is better for it - sometimes you gotta make some changes after the pilot, right? Before, I took it for granted - that you knew how I felt and what I wanted, that things could stay the same and therefore you'd stay was well." As he finishes this speech, Tenna slides off the couch to go down on one knee instead, visibly nervous and slightly trembling. Spamton is looking at him in startled disbelief as he processes what's about to happen, barely hearing as Tenna continues: "I don't ever want to let you slip through my fingers like that again - I - I'm done making the same mistake over and over! Spamton finally unfreezes from his shock, pointing a trembling accusing finger at Tenna as he asks "are you - is this a fucking proposal?", his swearing censored by his text quirk. Tenna is surprised to have been interrupted so suddenly, trying to stammer out a response but Spamton becomes manic, speech glitching heavily as he waves his hands around and begins his own nervous rant: "You're - ha - hahahaha- you're insane. You have to be - shit!" In the next panel Spamton is trying to wrangle his jaw shut with one hand while trying to cover his face with the other as it's possible to see he's slightly beginning to tear up, his internal monologue begging him to shut up, but he's still launching forward in his rant: "No - no sane in the. Would! Are you going senile in your retirement plan? Don't you re-members only what I've done?". He laughs through the oncoming tears, continuing: "You think tank I won't fucking do it again? After everything wrong with - after all that- all that- all that-". In the final panel Spamton is visibly shaking, one hand still pressing on his lower jaw to try and shut it, his other hand just holding his head as he's giving up on hiding the tears that are now very visibly overflowing from his glasses to his cheeks. He looks absolutely miserable as his speech quirk prevents him from properly speaking, internal thoughts still repeating "shut up" while out loud he wonders "after all, you want to?"
