A lot of the stuff at Everton in the early 00s (and especially in the 90s) - through 2025 eyes - reeks of unprofessionalism. There’s a place (and need) for banter in the workplace but I think things at Everton went too far & contributed to our on-field struggles.

All of this is why I think yesterday should be a bigger story, at the very least in the local media. The cynic in me does think it may possibly be related to Everton outdrawing Liverpool, the key people won’t like that development.

It’s definitely harder because we don’t have Arsenal’s advantages - London tourism, Arsenal’s brand being a big name, crucially their women’s team being very good & has been for many years, also investment for many years. A good marketing strategy can bridge some of this gap. Goodison helps us.
