All Disney needs to do to save Ares is a retitle.

This is a huge loss we didn’t get it. It would’ve been perfect.

This is the most insane title page ever. Like. What.

That is the clearest branding ever btw. Like those films are a box set.

Not me over here obsessing about why the text only Walt Disney Pictures banner (instead of the castle logo) was used for THE ROCKETEER (1991), A FAR OFF PLACE (1993), THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1993), RUDYARD KIPLING’S THE JUNGLE BOOK (1994) and MIGHTY JOE YOUNG (1998) & then never used it again.
Gold text that reads “Walt Disney Pictures” Blue text that reads “Walt Disney Pictures”

Fun fact: when I read this I don’t hear Alicia Silverstone as Cher. I hear Anya Taylor-Joy as Emma. Which tells you how interchangeable the characters are to me.

AI isn’t creative. A Shakespearean English retelling of a 90s valley girl retelling of a Jane Austen masterpiece that acknowledges all of these sources is creative.

Beautiful answer. My wife’s mother and grandmother are Lola.

If you get the chance I highly recommend going. The movie absolutely makes for a dynamite theatrical film. Lush stylish animation. Epic action. And the soundtrack of the year. I don’t mean the biggest this year. I mean the music 2025 was tracked to.

This book RULES btw. Because it really plays with how Clueless fits in the canon. It’s a perfect comedy but by reworking the period specificity it shows how it fits as an Austen adaptation as well as a timeless saga

It’s actually bookended by straight quoting from Austen. Which I’ll note is funny since the movie never credited Austen despite the characters and plot being directly and I mean DIRECTLY Emma.

I do think it’s wild that this is available now when the movie is a long way off. Admittedly they’re supposed to be a bit different but I’ll still get some sense of what one of my favorite artists is doing next.

I haven’t decided if I’ll read the new Nicholas Sparks book that’s meant as his version of his idea he’s doing with Shyamalan. I actually like Sparks in general so I might like it. Not decided though.

They misspell Lena Headey’s name in the credits. Really professional stuff

Scenes read like the filler they are. It’s all tell don’t show. There’s some battle scenes but imagine the prologue to LOTR except as a show

This is I need to stress actually quite bad. Like really bad writing. It’s fascinating how little it works. It’s telling the writing credits weren’t finalized as of publication. Releasing this as a book feels like a dark joke.

I love the contrast between this and Bernie which is almost achingly accurate about Texas due to the whole written by and costarring notable Texans thing.

Funny how close that is to Lola Shinn. Someone I know actually
