So it’s interesting to see Playtonic re-invest in this IP in a way that manages to maintain those initial inspirations, find some fun new ones and make the whole thing go down a lot more smoothly.

I’ve still got a few annoyances with it (pagie pieces suck ass) but I really like it!

I’m one of the few people that actually enjoyed the first game for what it was haha. It was pretty much exactly what it said on the tin: we’re doing Banjo-Kazooie again. It was rooted in that mostly dated design and what people actually had to confront is that Banjo-Kazooie is dated in some ways!

Hey this thing’s good! I think it’s neat that Playtonic is taking nearly a decade of feedback and inspiration and applying it to this remake.

It observes the things that have always been good about Yooka-Laylee and applies some modern design philosophies without feeling derivative. Good stuff!
