Ever noticed how James Horner's score from ANOTHER 48 HRS is basically his own scores from WILLOW and COMMANDO mashed up together? That's not a criticism at all, by the way. I loved it when Horner did stuff like that.
Yes! I do like the first one very much, but the sequel is just so much fun. Sure, it got butchered during production and all, but it's fun nonetheless. I remember it made 12-year-old me retroactively like the original more.
Funny how the movies most of you get so excited about on here don't interest me in the slightest. But that's has always been the case with me. I should be used to it by now.
Ha! I love it that you're the only other person I know that loves ANOTHER 48 HRS as much as I do.

"Damn right," he behemothed hoarsely.
I'm not sure how anyone imagined another Tron would be a hit, considering these movies have never been popular at the box office. But honestly? I can't believe we have three of these movies now. Three! And they all rule! 🤍
I plan to watch the first one this weekend, and then go see this one. I've heard nothing but good things. 😊
Ok, so this release is a joke. The movie looks amazing! But it has no special features whatsoever. Seriously, for a barebones release, this disc should be way cheaper.
So this bothers me a little bit. Shout's 4K disc of TIMECOP features the sound effect of the Intermedia Films logo rather than Largo Entertainment's usual music, and it's very weird. It's jarring.
On brand for this franchise. I kinda expected this. But this also means we won’t see another Tron movie for another 15-20 years. Oh, well, at least we have these three awesome films!
‘TRON: ARES’ underperforms and earns $60M in its worldwide box office opening weekend.

For comparison, ‘MORBIUS’ opened to $84M.
You put Norman Reedus in a Merchant Ivory film, or a space adventure, and he just shows up with the exact same look, huh? Interesting.
Please let's help Val and her roommate to cover their rent. They're having a rough time coming up with the money they need to stay housed. If you can't donate, please share to spread the word.
This. Remember who was quiet. Remember who supported this. They will claim they were misled, that they didn't know, but the information was always there. They just chose to ignore it. Those who supported this, those who were silent, they supported this genocide. Let's make sure they never forget it.
I want to see what this looks like when it's finished! 😀
I've always said that we would have been a lot kinder to 4 and 5 had they been Transporter sequels starring Jason Statham. But as Die Hard movies, we inevitably compared them to the first three movies--and that was always going to be a losing battle.
Don't listen to me, goddammit. I'm that stubborn Turk who enjoys QUANTUMANIA because it's basically the MCU's Tron.
That's not to dismiss your initial post, by the way. I do think that making movies for younger generations is important, but people our age also deserve nice things. 😅

I suck at interaction on here. I'm a little too old for social media. So I'm sorry for coming across as dismissive.
I'm old enough to remember the reactions to the previous Tron movies, and how people often dismissed them as trash. I've always loved them, but I knew the same thing was going to happen with this one. I feel like the appeal of Tron is pretty niche.
Well, I think the appeal of Tron has always been somewhat limited. And maybe that's why there's only one Tron movie every 20 years. I'm glad this movie exists but I don't think this was ever going to be a hit.
Haha, it has fun ideas! My problem with it is mostly the weird pacing, really. Because it has all the ingredients to be fun, but I just don't click with the pacing, if that makes sense?
I've never seen the first one. It's been on my list for a while. I think I finally need to check it out!
I'm not 50, nor white, nor a guy. But I'm pretty sure I'm part of the target demographic of TRON: ARES. That is, someone who grew up loving Tron.
