Ours were the only cowboy hats at the Stereolab show
Stereolab still one of the best bands on this planet, or any other.

Fun night playing records at The Stakeout last night...we're back!
The Dependables - Klatu Berrada Niktu - UA, 1971
LA duo of Joey Stec and Ralph Scala. This record has more of a Stones-y, Stax/Volt influence than most their peers doing California country-rock. Gram-approved Cosmic American music right here!
Guitar setup experts/luthiers: on my 12 string acoustic, the high octave strings sit closer to the fretboard than the bass strings. They should be even, right? Does the nut need to be re-slotted or replaced?
Very clever loophole y'all found!
My online students seem to think using Grammarly is ok because I didn't explicitly ban it by name, like I did with Chat GPT...smdh
Gene Vincent's self-titled LP on Kama Sutra is very, very good. Love the subgenre of original rock 'n' rollers going cosmic country (Bob Darin's Commitment comes to mind too)
Popular Freudianism is officially out of fashion. For example, I haven't heard anyone use the term anal retentive (or its shorthand, anal) in recent memory. Used to hear that tossed around all the time. Good riddance, I guess?
Back in the mid aughts you could name your band something innocuous like Real Estate or Woods and it would be fine.

Their future land of exile...one can hope.
Sam Blasucci (Mapache) is playing Tumbleroot in Santa Fe tonight. Promotion has been scant to non-existent. Can't make it myself, sadly, but I would recommend checking it out.

Bought a Spin-Clean Machine to clean some 45s. It's simple and works well, but not sure why a plastic bin with some brushes and manual rollers costs $70
I love the snare drum sound on Jimmy Reed's records. Who knew a drum could sound so lazy?
Haha, good one! As I recall they were all low-tech, internet 1.0 pranks
