Touy’a speaks Common and the Rei clan’s huntspeak which is a dialect specific to their own clan, there is some overlap with other clan’s/tribe’s huntspeak but they are all unique (my HC)

he once had a much thicker Miqo’te accent but it subsided overtime, it comes out sometimes in moments of passion

WIP Wednesday

I rarely share my writing because…I don’t find it to be my strength lol

But I’ve been working on this Artoirel/Aymeric fic for months so maybe putting a snippet out there will encourage me to finish it

(Yes, everything I make is always about Haurchefant shhhhhh)

"Artoirel, l've never properly spoken to you about what happened at the Vault, nor have I
apologized-" Aymeric starts his expression that of a pleading man
"Please, there's no need..." he interrupts his eyes once again falling on the sheet music he'd set aside from the rest of this pile, he takes in a deep breath and picks it up with a long sigh.
'Twas meant to be a funerary march..." he pauses
"I struggled with it for days" he says noting the scribbled out notes and haphazard adjustments to the arrangements on the pages. "I've never shared it with anyone, it seemed... as though it were not my song to write and especially not my song to share...
"
"Artoirel he was your brother, of course —"
"And I never treated him as such." He interrupts him again, an edge of bitterness in his tone as he cuts off the other man to say so, looking back up at Aymeric he wills himself to soften his voice

"I fear the song is more an expression of my own regrets more than it is for Haurchefant, it does not honor his life or his sacrifice, rather a dwelling space for my own self pity..." he admits, clenching his jaw as he looks away. How pathetic Aymeric must find him.
"Are not all rituals for the dead, truly for the comfort of the living?" Aymeric offers, his hand is still atop Artoirel's and he gives the other man a reassuring squeeze.
"Like all great knights, Lord Haurchefant resides in the Fury's icy halls, honored at her side for all time..." he smile again moving a bit closer to Artoirel "it is for the living to find peace and comfort in whatever way we can, be it through prayer, or works and good deeds... or even the act of writing a song..."

Seeing Touy’a loving on chocobos and being nuzzled by the birds might have been one of the moments that he realized he was falling for Touy’a

He could watch the man doing his paperwork and administrative duties with hearts in his eyes.

As for Haurchefant, much the same, he could watch Touy’a do anything and feel his heart swell with affection.

watching him command his squadrons and give orders with decisive authority 😳 that in particular has gotten Haurchefant dragged into bed by a very worked up Touy’a.

Watching him run training drills with his knights in the yard.

Touy’a loves watching Haurchefant do anything, he’s particularly soft and mushy over watching Haurchefant raise and train his Chocobo, the man is excellent with the birds and has a gentle but firm way of working with them that makes Touy’a *melt*
