Growing up a friend of my dad's had taken a swanky SUV driver's chair out of one that had been wrecked and turned it into an office desk chair. He had a box with a car battery hooked up so it had the power features (except going up and down).

I need to figure out how to do this for my home office.

This series is one of my comfort reads, with humans humaning awkwardly while saving the universe.

AND it is fundamentally archeology sci-fi (a sub-genre I weirdly love) with a consistent magic system that could make it fantasy, but really it is just sci-fi so soft it's mushy.
