Both We 💚 Seattle's board member, Tom Wolf, & WHS are publicly calling for #Trump to send the national guard in to invade San Francisco.

It's not funny, and it's not a game, yet here we are.

It took only 10 months for We 💚 Seattle to be all in for authoritarianism.
The image shows a tweet by T Wolf with a video of a person outdoors against a backdrop of tall buildings. The tweet comments on crime in San Francisco, suggesting the removal of organized drug dealers to resolve issues. The video caption humorously critiques local politicians. The tone is assertive and critical. A reposted tweet from Elon Musk emphasizes the need for a specific solution, referencing T Wolf's tweet highlighting San Francisco's fentanyl crisis.

The second part of Louise Weard's epic comes to The Forum THIS SUNDAY with @seattletransfilmfest.org ! CASTRATION MOVIE ANTHOLOGY ii: THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS trades slice-of-life sensibilities for a world of chaos that can be described as "trans AFTER HOURS on speed."

Congrats to Harrell who has finally built more shelter than he lost.

13 units in four years.

He promised 2000 & says he built 3000. The Seattle Times shows he is lying, taking credit for others’ work, & for moving tiny homes (counts each move as an opening!)

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell says he added 3,000 housing units. Did he?
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell is seeking reelection partly based on the claim he’s responsible for adding 3,000 emergency housing units. A deeper look reveals that’s an embellishment.

I think that if Seattle is going to have a digital wall with an interactive ten foot tall AI representation of anyone, it should be Rob Saka. Any AI "hallucinations" would be indistinguishable from his pronouncements at city council meetings, so it'd be both appropriate and immediately deliverable.

This seems fake but it's completely real: Audio of Seattle's current Mayor dreaming of a giant computer-simulated Martin Luther King, something the King family has explicitly asked people not to do.
Big thanks to Erica Barnett for being the only reporter in town covering these events so closely!

There are a lot of folks who should feel some sense of accountability. Most of them won't.

Diane Keaton could have directed Annie Hall but Woody Allen could NEVER have directed the music video for Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a Place on Earth"

This cartoon is from Oct 2022. These two clowns are now begging the president to invade the city they've based their careers on slandering (neither of them actually live here). What a world.

Today, The Word for World: The Maps of Ursula K. Le Guin opens at AA Gallery in London! Curated by Sarah Shin and Harriet Jennings, the exhibition presents a selection of Ursula's maps, including some that have never been exhibited before.
A photo of the entrance to The Word for World exhibition, with two banners hanging vertically down outside the doorway to a brick building with white-paned windows. A row of bicycles are parked in front. The banners are purple and white and say the name of the exhibition and Ursula K. Le Guin's name. A cord-wrapped rock rests on a vivid blue background next to a map of and program for The Word for World exhibition. A stack of copies of The Word for World book, which shows the title in vivid blue against a black cloth cover.

It occurs to me that the Doctor's polyethnic identity in recent times recontextualises Peter Davison's casting in quite an interesting way.
(For context, although you'd be unlikely to guess it by looking at him, Davison's paternal family is Guyanese. He has close relatives who are visibly Black.)
Peter Davison, a fair-skinned blond man, as the fifth Doctor, circa 1982.

imagine wearing a 7th doctor jumper to a tory conference in a world where this story, and many other stories, exist
"Helen A was intended to be a caricature of then British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.[4][5][2] Hancock stated that she "hate[d] Mrs Thatcher with a deep and venomous passion".[3] In 2010, Sylvester McCoy said that the production team was "a group of politically motivated people and it seemed the right thing to do. [...] Our feeling was that Margaret Thatcher was far more terrifying than any monster the Doctor had encountered." Andrew Cartmel, the story's script editor, said that he "was very angry about the social injustice in Britain under Thatcher" and was "delighted that came into the show."[4][5] The Doctor calling on the drones to down tools and revolt was intended as an allusion to the 1984–85 miners' strike and other industrial disputes in then-recent memory.[5] Most of this element was eventually toned down"

How does Designers & Dragons Origins have an inspiration in Doctor Who?

This is a thread from earlier today, about how the I, WHO series of books about the Doctor Who Novels was an inspiration when I started collecting my Dungeons & Dragons product histories into books. (Click through for more.)

(The interviews will have the whole story.)

But when I set about putting those product histories into book volumes starting in 2020, I had a new inspiration: a series of books called I, WHO.
