Moving away from a certain discourse, I'll be playing some RE2 remake tonight, heard this game was amazing and I cannot wait to play it. And perfect timing too given the current season. haha
towah5.bsky.social
Admittedly, I did play this as a kid and liked it, but when I played it as I got older and somehow 100% the game, I realised it was a mess. I remember going through some of the glitches, like the infamous swimming in the air where you had to horn dive on the edge of the pool to get it.

Nah the only good thing about X6 is the OST and that's it.
towah5.bsky.social
Not to mention the Nightmare system which basically puts bullshit RNG to all of the stages, meaning your playthrough will not always be the same every time as they're always introducing different stage hazards. It's so shit.
towah5.bsky.social
X6 is an absolute dumpster fire on all fronts. People can say what they want about X7, but nothing about that game particularly offended me. It was boring sure, but it wasn't as painful as X6 was for me.
towah5.bsky.social
Agreed. I go as far to say it's the worst Mega Man game ever. Absolute shitfest this game was from start to finish.
towah5.bsky.social
Then we have Spyro Enter the Dragonfly. A broken, buggy mess that in all fairness isn't the devs fault due to Universal rushing the game out for the Winter period. What we got was an extremely undercooked mess that could have been something amazing had it got more time in the oven. Fuck Universal.

Yugioh WC04 baffles me with how Konami screwed up a yugioh game despite having two games prior that simulated the TCG well. The AI is absolutely braindead, and is outright unfair with how they're not restricted to the banlist, coupled with cryptic unlock requirements and you get this piece of filth.

Mario Pinball Land proved to me that bad Mario games exist outside of educational games or Hotel Mario, because how in the fuck do you screw up pinball mechanics with Mario? I would have thought this was a hidden gem that not many people talked about, but nope, that certainly was not the case.

Mega Man X6 is a game if you've known me for a while, you'd know how much I despise it. I still stand by saying it's the worst game in the franchise. Awful story, inconsistent level design with stupid RNG elements, and is overall just a miserable time. The OST is the only saving grace with this one.
towah5.bsky.social
I've played a fair number of shitty games during my time, but these 4 in particular stand out to me as some of the worst I've played. In fact, I'm making this mini thread explaining why these games fucking suck.
towah5.bsky.social
And this goes beyond Resident Evil btw, because I see so many people beg for remakes without even appreciating what the originals were like. I'm all for a remake that is a new take that improves on the original, but holy fuck some games just can't be replicated man. Not every game needs a remake.
towah5.bsky.social
The thing that really annoys me about Capcom here, is that they believe the remakes are more or less replacements to the originals, rather than a new take altogether. Without the originals, we wouldn't even have the remakes we got now, so it's fucking stupid that they have this mentality.

Got a job interview coming up this Friday, wish me luck everyone!
towah5.bsky.social
It was pretty obvious with the hints and backstory building up to it, so I assumed I had to recreate history by beating Idunn using the binding blade.
towah5.bsky.social
It's definitely a first player's trap, no denying that.

Got to post the GOAT of the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil 4.

WAIT STRUZAN PAINTED THIS??
No wonder the cover art for A Hero's Tail goes so hard, this is news to me.
triple-q.bsky.social
little known fact, but Struzan did the Spyro: A Hero's Tail coverart for whatever reason. It is the *only* cover art he painted for a (non movie IP tie-in) videogame

It's a good-ass piece of course but man what a random title to do this for

From what I heard, if Roy wasn't gonna be in Melee, chances are Leif from FE5 would have been a smash bros rep instead which does make you wonder in an alternate timeline where Leif was included and not Roy. Chances are people would have never heard of Roy.
towah5.bsky.social
If you're referring to his incarnation in Smash Ultimate sure, but I don't recall the other incarnations being that great. But honestly Sakurai's take made Roy look far more likeable than he actually was in his own game, which is funny as he appeared in Melee first before FE6 to promote the game.

I can't necessarily blame you for having it so low, considering the questionable design decisions the game has. You can tell it was the first game of the post-kaga era in a lot of ways, and it shows.
