I once watched one of my co-workers try welding with a split leather glove, rather than digging out the actual welding glove. Turns out not all gloves are equal (and hot slag in the palm leaves a hell of a burn).

Also, the legal underpinning is that the requirement for the census predates the concept of illegal immigration in America and directs the government to count all persons, not just citizens.

Hell, in 2010, we even had to have one of our team members fill out a form for a couple who had died, because they were alive on Census Day, which means they had to be counted.
